Shah broke onto the scene just a few months ago with his first viral hit Don’t Do It Mandela and each single since has been met with huge waves of support. His latest hit, Pay Day 71, took off in Atlanta where it was released during the A3C festival. One of the most buzzed about emerging artists alongside Young Dolph, Shah’s current track and accompanying video is already spinning in Magic City, the most influential strip club in the country. Pay Day 71 establishes Shah as an independent artist on the rise and has led to press coining him ‘NY’s favorite Toronto rapper.’ Based in NY, Shah is spreading an important feminist message with Pay Day 71, with the 71 referencing the gender pay gap. Although Shah is not a conscious rapper and has pop appeal, he’s changing the rap game by being vocal about gender equality in an overly misogynistic industry. Shah is one to watch – this Toronto artist is quickly taking over the hottest hip hop cities in the US.
